Meet Tim Haefke

Hello. I have been in this business now for over 20 plus years. I started in 1989 working for Dean Witter Reynolds. Like many, I worked my way up from the bottom, starting my career as a runner. From there I was hired by the company's institutional currency group. After a year experience learning the arbitrage and phone clerking side of the business, the institutional equities group came calling and I was brought into a whole new ballgame. This group then recognized my attention to detail, facility with numbers, and a steel trap memory for market movement. They suggested a path to enhance a new career opportunity. I took numerous classes in Technical Analysis. I loved it!

I learned this art through hard work, which involved plenty of trial and error. When the time came, this equity group thought enough of my work and hired me to be the Head Technician for their equities product. I started that job in 1992. Dean Witter was then sold in 1997. The group, along with myself, went separate ways. I started Top Notch Trading shorty afterward in the middle of 1998 and have been offering a service for day trading ever since.
